Bridge mode

I have an AT&T Gateway model 5268AC.  I am installing the TP-Link S-4 mesh network and was told by ATT support I could do that but should set it up in Bridge Mode.  How do I set up in Bridge Mode?

You'd think AT&T "support" would know the actual name of the gateway setting required.  🙄

The 5268ac requires you to set it to DMZplus mode.  Scroll down to the bottom of that page for the 2Wire/Pace Gateway section.

Hi Tony,

Can I ask you 2 more questions ?

1. Should I set up the DMZ before or after I initialize the Deco unit?

2. You recommended shutting off the wifi radios, when do I do  that in the process and where do I do it?

Thanks

Dan

1.That's a good question!

The two devices, the 5268ac and the Deco need to be on different subnets.  The AT&T gateway is on 192.168.1.nnn so you would want the Deco to be on a different one, say 192.168.2.nnn.  I've never done a setup with these two devices but on other combinations the process is automatic and doesn't require any user intervention.  So maybe manually changing the Deco's LAN address beforehand is a good idea to avoid an issue if it doesn't get done automatically.

2. Yes, it's recommended to disable wifi on the Pace to avoid interference with the Deco.  You can do this at any point in the process.  Go to http://192.168.1.254 and click the Settings tab, then the LAN tab, then Wifi.  Disable the wifi interface and don't forget to scroll down and click the Save button.
