Blinking broadband light for NVG589

I have had the new NVG589 modem for about a  month I just noticed that it is mising the internal  battery. I have also had an out of sync issue for the past few days. I had a tech repair a line issue last week and a U-verse tech came and resynced my system yesterday but last night I noticed that the system went down (phone and internet) after a few seconds the modem restarted itself and I have the out of sync issue again. For a while the boardband light was blinking red but when I woke up this morning it went back to cycling from blinking green to red then back again. I can still use the internet and the phone. I just find it annoying to have to call out another tech when I have had two repair the issue so far. I have also checked and there are no service outages in my area. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.

If you have voice service, then you should definitely have a backup battery in the NVG 589.

Having your modem lose sync and have to retrain indicates line issues.  I'd suggest you start by clicking this AT&T logoU-verse Customer Service link to send a Private Message (PM) to the AT&T customer service team to help you resolve your issues. You can expect a reply via return PM (the blue envelope envelopewill appear in the upper right hand corner of this site, next to your name and avatar) in a business day or three.

This is a group of U-verse service specialists who are knowledgeable about U-verse and will stay with your problem until the end (instead of forgetting about it when the phone hits the cradle). Speed things up by including your Billing Account Number, and the best time and way to reach you.  Tell them about the missing battery and the continuing loss of sync and your NVG 589 retraining.

Thanks for the suggestion I conducted a live chat session with an agent and I will have to have another tech come by to check a line issue. I will ask the tech when they come by about the missing  internal modem battery. When I looked it up via ATT's help page I only found the internal battery for the lager back up battery box which I have.

Update on my issue. Well Friday July 25th a very helpful U-verse tech stopped by and solved my issue. He said that the backup battery that was supplied with my new NVG589 modem was causing the problem. He corrected the issue by supplying me with a new modem and internal battery. So far so good I haven't had any other problems so far.
