ATT-WIFI-8242 hotspot & DSL

Will my ATT-WIFI-8242 hotspot connect with a Verizon DSL router?  It seems ready to go, but it does not seem to be able to locate the DSL WIFI on my computer and my computer does not list the hotspot on available networks.  Thanks!
