ATT Router/Modem device status

Why is this address in use 192.168.1.153? The dhcp server only uses 192.168.1.64-100

3 Possible reasons:

1) It's statically assigned

2) You're incorrect about the DHCP assignment range

3) You've changed the DHCP assignment range and this node hasn't try to renew yet.

I think it’s #1 but can’t determine how. It’s not in my IP range (192.168.16.0/24).

Finally found out why. I recently had a ATT Router/modem fail. The new replacement assigns the 192.168.1.253 IP. Previously it was 192.168.1.63 with the prior router/modem.

The default DHCP server address pool is .64 to .253.   But you’d already know that if you logged into the management console.

Keep in mind that certain devices use a default privacy setting to randomize MAC address presented to the DHCP server.
