AT&T router (with gigabit internet) compatibility with Intel(R) Ethernet Controller (3) I225-V?
Hello,
I just got a new computer and the motherboard has a Intel(R) Ethernet Controller (3) I225-V. Plugged in my ethernet cable (which worked on my previous computer) and no recognized connection. Wifi works but not wired.
Tried multiple cables - all which work on other devices - and no go. Reset the router multiple times and still nothing. Any recommendations/fixes?
Thank you!

Yes all embedded Network Controllers work with ISP.
Go to Start>type in cmd> when prompt type in ipconfig /all
and paste it in the reply

There was a user recently who had a I225-V that was negotiating at 100 Mbps instead of 1000 Mbps, but they did get it to negotiate. Try a different port of the Gateway (especially if you're trying port 1 on a BGW 320). If you have a gigabit switch lying around, try connecting through it.
What model Gateway do you have?

or you can find your Network Driver on your Motherboard driver page

appreciate the responses all!

It gets an IP address from the gateway A gigabit switch won't help because the NIC can't see the cable only wifi.
From your output
Media State . . . . . . . . . . . : Media disconnected
Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
Description . . . . . . . . . . . : Intel(R) Ethernet Controller (3) I225-V
Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : D8-BB-C1-9F-4A-1B
DHCP Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : Yes
Autoconfiguration Enabled . . . . : Yes
Media state (is the cable in the NIC) and your output says NO but physically connected so driver issue
Type in device manager and see if any ? or X is in the Network Adapters and report back If it device manager detects the NIC is disabled by down Arrow right-click the adapter and click enable
If Its a driver issue reinstall the LAN driver from the motherboard support driver page or follow below
Recommendation to update Non-Volatile Memory (NVM)
There are a couple of possible issues:
Update Non-Volatile Memory (NVM) and driver based on the process below:
Boot to Windows*.
Go to the download center of the motherboard manufacturer.
Download the Intel(R) Gigabit Ethernet Driver V1.0.1.4.
Inside the package you will find the firmware update tool and instructions on how to use it. Before installing Intel I225-V driver v.1.0.1.4, ensure that Intel I225-V firmware should be updated to v.1.45 via firmware update tool. After finishing necessary firmware update, shut down and unplug the power cord, and then reboot the system normally. For more information, refer to the firmware update guide.
Update NVM to 1.45.
Shut down the system.
Turn off Power supply (AC).
Wait for 30 seconds.
Turn On power supply and Boot to Windows.
Go to device manager,
Find I225 controller.
Uninstall all existing drivers.
Install LAN driver 1.0.1.4.
Both ASUS and Gigabyte confirmed that NVM 1.45 + LAN driver 1.0.1.4 does not have a performance issue. Engineering at Intel also confirms this.

ATT, There is nothing you can do for him please read the OP posting before you bot me. Your Tech support is at par at best. He had a driver firmware problem and Tier 1 support won't work.

Thanks for your detailed instructions, @coxchris859. And you may find it hard to believe, but you haven't been "bot-ed"; these are real people behind the ATTHelp label.
And you must be an optimist because the paid support is maybe "at bogey", at best. 😁
