ATT Router firewall with IP passthrough mode

Do firewall rules (such as flood limiting TCP/ UDP packets) apply when using IP passthrough to own router or are all packets passed to own device regardless of firewall rules on ATT router?

Hi @schnappi,

To my knowledge, the firewall rules do apply even in IP passthrough. The firewall is a basic firewall, so most of the traffic it does discard are packets that are invalid for any router. However, if you have your own security firewall and are going through IP passthrough, it may be best to disable all the firewall settings to let your router handle it.

Tested prior to above reply and firewall rules do apply. For example dropping ICMP echo requests on ATT router will drop the packets on own router behind the NVG595, NVG 589, ect. As a result assume same logic applies to all advanced rules and packet filters on ATT router firewall and the above supports this.
