AT&T Home Base Wifi Connection Limit
I have an AT&T Home Base model number Z700A. There is a "Maximum Wi-Fi Devices" limit of 10 Wifi IP addresses which are assigned by the DHCP server running on the device. However, I have 20 or more wireless devices, and quite often there are more than 10 devices needing active connections at the same time which causes me a lot of problems. How can one exceed the 10 Wifi device limit using this router?
If I were to set "Wifi Broadcast" to "Off" on the Home Base, connect another Wifi-enabled router downstream using the one wired Ethernet connection on the Home Base, and set the base DHCP address of the downstream router to 192.168.1.1 (Home Base is at 192.168.0.1), would that work?

provides an IP phone connection. The name "Home Base" says its use, for the
home, and particularly for homes that have no choice for Internet except
for 4G or satellite, which is my case. But, it only provides 10 device
connections. Yes, I could try adding a downstream router, but I'll need to
research and buy a router first. Before doing so, I thought I would ask if
anyone has experience with this. Also, I posted this to what I thought was
AT&T wireless internet, if not, it must have been rerouted. I did search,
but similar posts were at least two years old. Technology changes fast.
I'll search again. Thanks for posting back!

Having same issue. I don’t need much for data flow but limiting connections is a pain in the (Edited per community guidelines). Can’t get my phone connected right now as have laptop on line. I did go in and change connections to 9 with no guests allowed.

Afternoon @CaptBruce
Let's answer your question about wifi connection limits!
Do know that the Wifi device connection to a wireless home base is limited in order to help keep your internet service at full function. This also prevents your WiFi/internet from being impacted of slow speeds and inaccessibility when multiple devices are using the same home base.
Currently there are no options available to increase the connection limit.
Our recommendation is to remove a device that is currently not in use to make room for the cellphone to connect to the wifi home base.
If your having problems with the cellphone itself, you can access the Device Troubleshoot and Resolve Tool be selecting what device you have, then go to Get more Help > Fix and Issue > Device Issues and select WIFI for further steps.
You can also review our article on Managing Wifi Devices with the Smart Home Manager for more details.
We hope this helps, and thanks for reaching out to the community.

Hello. The best option is to obtain a new wifi router and use the ATT Home Base only for internet access. In settings you can disable wifi. I'm using an Orbi router and 1 satellite and have wifi access all over the house and don't have the limitations of the quantity of devices. I have 3 kids, multiple ipads, iphones, laptops, echo dot and smart tv's and all connects without any interruption. The only limitation is the Home Base internet speed that is slower than an iPhone but that's another topic.
