ASUS RT-N66U behind Arris BGW210 (IP Passthrough) and Firewall Settings

Service Level:  Gigapower fiber 100Mbs.

I finally got the RT-N66U working behind the AT&T router using IP passthrough, but I'm curious about the firewall/packet filtering.  I have both radios disabled on the BGW210.  The BGW210 has a desktop computer, an IP phone, and the ASUS router plugged into the ethernet ports.  Should I move the IP phone and desktop to the ASUS ethernet ports so that I can disable the firewall on one of the routers?  My understanding is that it's not desirable to have packet filtering/firewalls enabled on both routers.  Should I turn off packet filtering on the BGW210 and leave the ASUS firewall in place (after moving wired Ethernet mentioned above)?  I assume that the ASUS firewall has more features/control.  Thanks in advance.

Hello @jrmcc999,

Thanks for bringing your question to the forums! The short answer is yes. Once you place your gateway into passthrough mode your router is allowed to take over and replace those functions of the gateway. If you have any further questions please feel free to reach back out!
