AirTies 4920 - red blinking light on 2.4GHz
I just got an AirTies 4920 Wifi Extender. I set it up using the instructions. Everything appears to sync up fine, but after a few moments the 2.4GHz light begins to blink red. I have done the factory reset and set up utilizing WPS a dozen times. Same result. My gateway is the 5268ac. Anyone have any advice or explanation of these goings on? I am not completely sure at this point if the extender is even helping. Please help!!

Hi @barlowdnj,
I am sorry about the issues, but I will be glad to help. The red light indicates it is having trouble connecting to the 2.4Ghz connection from your gateway. There could be more interference on this band then on the 5Ghz connection, so that is why it is red on the 2.4Ghz but connecting fine on the 5Ghz. Try rebooting the gateway and the AirTies. Move any devices away from the AirTies that may cause interference. If still having issues, try moving the AirTies closer to the gateway. Hope this helps.

Why reboot the gateway? That seems redundant.
I also have a similar issue, in that no initial setup successful connection has been accomplished.
Manual setup documentation is sorely missing (and shouldn't be).

I had problems setting up air tie 4290 using WiFi. I am using an ATT Wi 6500 wireless modem. I tried using an Ethernet cable between the extender and modem and used procedure to activate WPS on modem then extender. It paired fine and got two green lights. Disconnected the ethernet cable and moved 4290 to a far room I could not get WiFi before and now I can. Could not use the Smart Home Manager app since it would not load on my phone. Used the WIFI Analyzer app. to check the signal strengths in various places in my home.
