Airties 4920. Just blinks white blinking light. Worked great for weeks.

I did a reset, and the blinking white light. Indicating firmware update never stops.

Tried to resync with wps method, and wired to Ethernet method.

ismit bricked?

Hi, @VibewithFibe.

How long has the update been going on before you attempted a reset? Some updates can take a bit of time to fully complete, and the device should reset itself after updating.

I am having the same issue. I've left it over 48 hours and the light is still blinking white.

I am having the same issue, tried reseting, got solid light for about 30 seconds before the blinking light returned, has been that way for hours now.

I am having the same problem. Have tried resetting it a bunch of times. Still blinking power, no 2.4 or 5 lights at all.

Thanks for reaching out @apalvarez, we’ll be glad to help with that.

Just to clarify you’re having the issue above, the power light has been blinking white for days on an Airties 4920 extender?

The blinking white light indicates the extender is attempting a firmware update but it certainly shouldn’t take that long.

  • First, let's try resetting your extender by unplugging the power for 30 seconds. If it continues blinking white, give it at least 10 minutes after powering back up
  • Next try factory resetting the Airties. To do this:
    1. Use the end of a paper clip, toothpick, or similar.
    2. Push down the hole marked "RESET" on the back of the access point and hold it for 5 seconds.
    3. Once the process has been initiated, the LEDs on the front will briefly flicker, and it will reboot within 3 minutes.

Please let us know if this helps solve the problem, if not we may need to look at a replacement.

Hi Jeff (and those who shared their problems)

My 4920 went offline 2 weeks ago and my attempt to fix it were not working. Until I found your recommendations and instructions; and BAM! It is is up in running in less than 10 minutes!! Very important note to hold that reset button for 5 seconds; it did the trick!!

Thank you

buzwald,

Just got home and saw the light blinking 10 times and then go solid followed by the same pattern. I reset on for 2 seconds then saw Jeff and your post and reset for 5 until lights blinked as instructed and works fine!! Thank you guys!!!!! I pressed the wps buttons. Not sure if that was necessary but the reset with paperclip worked!!!

Having the same problem but when I hold in the reset button with a toothpick for 5 seconds nothing happens. Same if I do it for 10 seconds. It just keeps blinking white about 15 times then solid white then blinking ect. ect. I have also unplugged then reset, used the on/off button then reset, then tried all above with an ethernet cord attached. It just keeps on blinking. I have done all this at my desk with the gateway about 4 feet away.

I am having the same problem "Newmoon0712" is having.  Tried to reset it now Three times using the method described above.  I cannot get the green lights to come on or the On/Off switch to stop blinking.  Is there a possibility the unit has just gone bad? Is there any test to establish this.

@glennehill   Please don't resurrect ancient posts just to add a "me too" comment.  Chances are the details (and any solution) may be different.  Instead, begin your own post and provide as much detail about your hardware, symptoms and any troubleshooting you've done.
