ADSL Modem

I need to replace my current TP-Link modem/router combo and looking for suggestions. I've looked at Amazon for dsl modems and there are quite a few listings that stat they are not compatible with AT&T, but I'm not sure that they mean DSL or U-Verse as the incompatible service.

Hi, @MCowperthwaite.

We are here to help.

What concerns are you having with your AT&T equipment that is causing you to use the TP-link gateway?

By adding another gateway behind your AT&T equipment it slows down your internet. The only way it can speed it up is unless you use IP pass through for the second gateway.

If you are experiencing problems with your AT&T equipment, we suggest that you use our smart home manager.

Let us know if this helps.

The AT&T equipment stopped working at least 10 years ago and upon recommendation by AT&T customer service, I've used third party equipment since. I'm having frequent outages and customer service is assigning the blame to my modem which is fairly old.

Hi, @MCowperthwaite.

Do you have ADSL or VDSL?

We understand that you are trying to get a DSL modem, is that correct?

The modems that you are looking at on amazon, are not compatible with U-verse service.

Let us know if this helps.

Hi, @MCowperthwaite.

This is a third party device and since it is ADSL service, you can get the new router/modem.

The router/modem is just not compatible with any uverse equipment.

If you have any questions, feel free to reach back out to us. Let us know how the new equipment works.
