Additional authentication required

So about 5 days ago I turned on my Xbox an saw that it wasn’t connected to like so I checked my network and it took me to a screen saying additional authentication needed but when I click it it takes me to a blank screen before closing itself out I thought it could be just my Xbox but it’s the same with the 2 other Xbox’s I’m my house so it couldn’t be the Xbox

Hey, @Robertfavors. We'd be glad to help get your Xbox Ones connected properly!

Do you have any 3rd party internet devices on your network such as extenders, access points, or 3rd party routers?

  • If so, especially if your Xbox One is connected to an extender's network, they can request additional authentication on their end and prevent you from staying connected.

  • If this is the case for you, you may want to try disconnecting all your 3rd party equipment and Factory Resetting your Gateway to clear all custom settings from your gateway. At that point you can test to see if your Xbox Ones are still getting authentication errors.

If this doesn't help, or if you don't have any 3rd party equipment, let us know so we can figure out what to do next!
