An elderly friend received this email from supposedly AT&T Support:

Dear User,

Your email address will be discontinued on February 19, 2020. This is to inform you that we are updating our service agreement and privacy

statement. Please keep your secure information updated.

Do not ignore!

Customers will have to Verify their email address to confirm

kindly use the attachment to update your mail re-login and verify now! we apologize for any inconvenience caused.

Is this legit? It sounds kinda like clickbait.

Hello,

Sounds like it, but to check home services tehcnicla support is 800. 288. 2020 and for fraud see below:

“We completely understand your frustration. Please also contact our Fraud department at (Phone number hidden) for further assistance with this issue. Their hours of operation are as follows: Monday-Friday 8am - 9pm, Saturday 9am - 6pm, and Sunday 8am - 6pm.“

its fraud, notice it says to logout of the email click the enclosed link and re login? thats how they get usernames and passwords, and once they have that password they login and browse for banking and credit card info or any other personal info
