Yahoo inbox is now gone after being required to create an ATT email account

I cannot locate my saved/inbox emails or folders/

I have an old sbcglobal.net email acct that was serviced through Yahoo.  I use it daily. On Friday, 6/12, 2020 my Yahoo mobile app asked me to log in (it usually doesn't), so I entered my ID which is my old sbcglobal.net email address.  It then displayed another screen to login again this time with my password. The same screen did not have an ENTER button or arrow to progress my log in credentials.  The only thing it showed on the screen was a link to create an account.  After a few tries of logging in, I clicked this link and created an att.net email account that I believed would be merged with my sbcglobal.net account. It didn't merge anything.  I've tried several ways to find my lost emails and folders.  Not only that, but many vendors and companys have my old email acct as their way to notify me.

How do I get access to my primary email account?

We're happy to help, @mmcummings.

Please trying signing into your SBCglobal account through att.net. We also suggest reaching out to Yahoo's support team to find out why you were prompted to sign in.

If you require further assistance, let us know.

Exact same thing has happened to me.  I was on the phone with ATT for 45 minutes yesterday and they have no idea what is going on!  Unbelievable.

Karen thank you for replying because I have spent double that time trying to figure it out on my own.
I’m now working on removing that email address from everything I own but some accounts won’t let me change it as my ID which means I’ll have to delete those accounts and start over. Ugh!

How can ATT decide to merge with yahoo and get away with people not being able to access their yahoo email accounts?!  “We’re sorry “ isn’t going to cut it.  There are over one hundred saved emails in my yahoo account that are personal and business related. As I’m sure is the case with thousands of other people.  Who gave them the right or authority to just hack up our email accounts!!

This is also happening to me with a sbcglobal email account.

I needed to change my password and 14 years worth of emails were gone from my inbox !  Unbelievable!!

Such a bummer!  Did you ever get a solution to get the address active again?

Hi @mmcummings,  we'll be happy to help with your email.

One suggestion would be to try logging in or resetting your password through the "mail" link on Currently from AT&T. Some folks have had better luck with this site for sbcglobal emails.

We'd also suggest reviewing our sbcglobal troubleshooting post for help with sign-in problems.

If you are still having trouble, please let us know if there is a specific error you receive when trying to sign in or reset the password

Jeff,

I am having the same issue with sbcglobal.net email. I’ve tried everything listed in troubleshooting. Is the server down?

Hi, @Sbcglobal_ugh,

Sorry to hear those steps didn't do the trick.

If the reset through the site listed didn't work, then the next step would be to contact our customer care to see if they can look into manually restoring the account.
