Whitelisting E-mail Senders

My Yahoo webmail client likes to kidnap various incoming e-mails at random. Even if it's a newsletter I read every day, it gets blocked one or more times weekly. Marking things "Not Spam" doesn't help. Is there no way to whitelist my approved senders?

BTW, AT&T "help" is none at all on this topic, or generally as far as I can tell.

Hey @jmrathbun,

We do have a spam guard in which may be blocking some Emails you wish to receiver. Spam guard works by reports of users reporting certain Emails as spam, and generates a filter list.

If you wish you receive these Emails. You will need to create an Email filter. Create the filter you wish the Email address to have, and save the settings. You can also use this to help organize your Emails, and have them automatically filed to the proper folder.

Let us know if this helps.

We can help point you in the right direction, @jmrathbun.

AT&T does not support Yahoo webmail features or functions. You will need to speak with Yahoo support for the best assistance with your spam filter concerns.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

Er... I'm talking about the web-mail interface provided by AT&T Uverse in connection with our Bellsouth.net e-mail account. The URL appears to be at Yahoo, but we're paying you for the service, not them.

We're here to help with your email, @jmrathbun.

What device are you using to access your email? Are you using an email app such as outlook to access your email?

We have an article with information on how to troubleshoot your email. If you scroll down to the Email Not Going Where It Is Supposed To section, It has a few suggestions on how to resolve this issue. Try it out and let us know if it helps.

Thanks for the link! Unfortunately, nothing on there is relevant to my problem of the spam catcher kidnapping my newsletters.

I routinely use Thunderbird to read e-mail, but sometimes it can't connect, so then I go to https://mail.yahoo.com/d/folders/1?.intl=us&.partner=sbc&.lang=en-US

I've learned to go there more often than I need to because I often find something in the Spam folder there that I really wanted to read.

I'm not sure how or when that became the default web-mail client for my Bellsouth.net account that I purchase from AT&T as part of my Uverse subscription, but I recall I kept being forwarded there when looking for my lost e-mails.

So, is there no way to whitelist senders so I don't keep losing touch with people? Clicking "Not Spam" doesn't seem to stick.

I wish there were a one-button solution:  you can click "Not Spam" so why not an option for "Whitelist Sender"?

We're here to help answer your question @jmrathbun.

That is currently not an option at this time and there is no information regarding if that would ever be available. If that option ever becomes available we will provide that information. Please let us know if that answers your question.

Well, I went through the burdensome procedure of whitelisting hendersoncountync, but sure enough the next e-mail that came from them was kidnapped by the spam bucket. Every day, you guys refuse to deliver at least one of my daily newsletters. It's obvious you have no reasonable criteria for marking something as spam, and the cumbersome whitelisting technique (which any competent programmer could have automated about ten years ago) doesn't work. Couldn't you please at least give us the option to turn spam filtering off? My Thunderbird can do the job MUCH better!

I tried constructing some all-purpose filters with the intention of bypassing your errant spam filter altogether. Sure enough, over the next few days multiple e-mails were kidnapped. It seems obvious the "filter" option is inoperative, unless I'm doing something wrong.

I have the same problem. From my research, it appears ALL the email goes through the spam filter BEFORE it hits your inbox and your filters.  Therefore any contacts, whitelist, or filters will never see it.  What I would like to have happen is AT&T/Yahoo/BellSouth disable the spam filter entirely on my account and I'll handle spam locally in Outlook.  I REALLY hate having to still keep going online to check my email spam folder.
