Someone keeps trying to gain access to my e-mail

I've received the same e-mail 4 or 5 times over the last few months from at&t saying that I forgot my User ID and have requested it which I have not. Someone is obviously trying to gain access, but I assume since it is e-mailing me and not some e-mail they have access to they shouldn't be able to get in? The e-mail says if I received it in error to call the number yet you only ever get the stupid robot that doesn't ever react to anything I tell it so..... really wish at&t used 2FA. So do I need to do anything or just ignore it?

Hey, @YetiUprising. We can understand your concern about these emails, and we're here to help!

  • You may want to look into Reporting this email as Fraud. Just follow the steps in the article to forward them to the fraud department.

  • As far as your wish for 2 factor authentication, AT&T has a 2nd layer of security known as OAuth, used in junction with a Secure Mail Key.

Let us know if you have anymore questions!
