Email not working

One of my main AT&T email accounts is no longer working. I deleted the account on computer and phone and reinstalled using updated instructions from help section. It sets up correctly and acts as if it is connecting but I haven't gotten any new mail in 3 days and am not getting my own tests from multiple other sources even on the webmail platform. I spent 30 minutes on a help call with someone yesterday and then got disconnected. The connection with yahoo has always seemed to be the source of problems and is time consuming and frustrating. I'm ready to bail to a gmail account but in the mean time know I'm missing important mail. Advice??? Anyone else dealing with this???
