Checking Email To See If Its Spam

Does AT&T email decide an email is spam and then check to see what my filters say to do with it? Or, are emails determined to be spam by AT&T sent to the spam/junk box no matter what? Also, when I mark a spam email as Not Spam and it moves to my inbox how does this train the system to eventually know it is not spam and start putting into my inbox?

Please don’t tell me to use the Troubleshoot And Repair service as it does not work and it not available at this time.

Hey, @Sheman.

We understand that you're needing information regarding spam. Don't worry, we can help with that.

Are you getting an error when trying to send emails?

What you can do here is go to our postmaster website. Take a look under email complaints and you will see a link for Spam-cops that will help in explain how emails are classified spam and why. Please let us know if that helps.

Thanks, I’ll check the postmaster website. I am not having problems sending just receiving emails. They go to spam when they are legitimate emails that should be going to my Inbox.

Hey, @Sheman,

Have you checked to see if your email filter is set to only receive emails only from people and your safe senders list? We would advise you to check if that's enabled.

Learn how to set email filters. Please let us know if that helps.

Where do I find the safe senders list? Is this the same as filters? if so, they are already in this list and at the top of it. Thanks.

Hey @Sheman,

Please follow these steps that will get you there.

1.Open your mailbox and Select Options on the top right hand side > Mail Options > Filters > Add Filter

2. Once you select filters, click add filter.

3. Select contacts from the pull-down menu. Then enter the address in the text box next to the pull-down menu.

4. Then move down to bottom were it states move email to. Then your going to select inbox then select the add filter button again.

This seems to be working.

Still don’t understand why I suddenly started having problems when I hadn’t changed anything. Has to be something AT&T changed when they went to currently.att.yahoo. That’s about the time I stared having problems. Oh well, it seems to be working now.

Thanks for your help.
