CARE CODE: 205.4

Been trying to log into my sbcglobal.net legacy account since April. So far, nobody has gotten back to me. Have spent numerous hours trying to fix this issue with no luck. Hoping someone here has the resolution. Error messages I'm receiving:

When trying to login into my email: "We are sorry but you are not authorized to access this website. Please verify you are authorized and re-enter your user ID and password."

When trying to login into ATT account: "Looks like there's a problem with that ID/password. Sign in with a different ID [205.4]."

When trying to login into ATT account: "Your user ID is not authorized."

I do not have a DirecTV account

Other things to mention:

My sbcglobal.net email has worked through Yahoo/ATT for years.

I've tried resetting both my username and password

I've tried accessing my email/ATT account with several different devices

There is a notification that AT&T has changed the userID format. You now have to use an email address.

If you have been using, like me, an alias for 15 years, that will no longer work, and every body thank AT&T for sending this notification in the mail, or including in the bill (we still get a paper bill).

But no!

That would be expecting too much.

Thanks AT&T for thinking of YOUR customers!

I have had an sbcglobal.net email for over 20 years. And I too,  had the problem of suddenly not being able to get into my email unless I used Edge, I have used chrome for at least 10 years. The problem is ATT has changed the login website and when I go to yahoo..com, put my email in and password, chrome redirects me to the wrong place to log in. I used the address https://currently.att.yahoo.com that was posted on this site and now I can get into my email again.  I only use web email and I always use my full email as the user id. I just wish they would quit popping up that message when I choose to stay logged in for 2 weeks

Same problem here, I spent hours being told I was stupid for not understanding the difference between password, passcode  and security word.  Their own letter uses pass code and pass word as the same. I've tried every browser , cleared cache, reset password , flossed my teeth .

ATT just fiddles with us , our time is of no importance. They just blamed me.

My iPhone and iPad suddenly stopped retrieving my sbcglobal emails yesterday, telling me there’s no password even though it’s there (and I’ve repeatedly re-entered it). I can access the emails online through the AT&T website... Now it won’t even let me add the account after deleting it - it tells me there’s no password entered despite just having entered it!!

We're here to help @Ablesq, with accessing your email from your mobile device.

  • Have you tried setting up a Secure Mail Key?
  • Email client apps that aren't OAuth compatible required that you do so.
  • We also would recommend that you try reinstalling the app and rebooting your device.

Please let us know if that works for you.

Same issue! Seems to be ATnT sever related...all other mail accounts are fine.

I had EXACT same message and fixed it.  After numerous hours we simply removed the account then re-added under YAHOO.  When signing in to YAHOO it automatically sends you to ATT sign in.  When you sign in to that enter an incorrect password so it comes back with incorrect password then enter again with the correct password and it went through.  Crazy but it works.

Up until yesterday I was able to access my Bellsouth.net legacy Account. Today I am receiving code 205.4  - "That user ID doesn't seem to work here. Sign in with a different ID." I don't have a different ID and I've had this e-mail account for over 20 years. I have cleared my cookies and cache. I have tried accessing in privacy mode. I get the same message. I cannot access my e-mail on my iPad or iPhone. The only difference I can see is that the log in screen now has the addition of Zen Key.

I have looked at other forums on Code 205.4 and none of the suggested solutions have worked. Please help - I need to access this account as soon as possible.

On researching this forum - I clicked on this:

https://www.att.com/support/article/wireless/KM1047366?gsi=iamp8a

I clicked on "Find My ID" Then after they sent me an e-mail with my ID - I signed in from that same screen (it gives you the option to sign in). It then logged me in and I was able to access my e-mail.

I am also getting this on our main email.  I can sign into a subordinate email, but it does not recognize the email address of our main email account.

Trying to login to my email account today.  On the At&T page I get this:

That user ID doesn't seem to work here. Sign in with a different ID.
CARE CODE: 205.4
This is the same ID used for the last 5 years.  I have cleared cache and history.  I used another browser.  There is NO other account ID I can use.  I can't get into email to send help requests.  Please advise.

Only new thing about my login page is the addition of them trying to get me to use Zenkey.  If I can't login like I have for years...not adding anything else right now!

I reset my password and got in but again locked out of email with code 205.4.  I was able to get thru to ATT at 800-288-2020 after going round and round in the automated call answering. Tech that I spoke with said it is a server issue and should be fixed in 24-48 hrs.

Hi,

I've also abruptly been shown this error when attempting to log in to my email (using the computer; phone still works) via the https://currently.att.yahoo.com/ site as I have in the past. I've tried to log in using an incognito window as was suggested here without success. Could someone please advise?

I can't log in to me email on a computer.

I keep getting:

CARE CODE 205.4

That user ID doesn't seem to work here. Sign in with a different ID.

This is on a bellsouthnet account that I've had about 20 years. I use web mail on a computer, but the mail app on my iPhone. It's still working on the iPhone, but I also need to be able to check it on my computer. I've tried it on multiple computers, getting the same result on all. Any help is greatly appreciated.
