CARE CODE: 205.4

Been trying to log into my sbcglobal.net legacy account since April. So far, nobody has gotten back to me. Have spent numerous hours trying to fix this issue with no luck. Hoping someone here has the resolution. Error messages I'm receiving:

When trying to login into my email: "We are sorry but you are not authorized to access this website. Please verify you are authorized and re-enter your user ID and password."

When trying to login into ATT account: "Looks like there's a problem with that ID/password. Sign in with a different ID [205.4]."

When trying to login into ATT account: "Your user ID is not authorized."

I do not have a DirecTV account

Other things to mention:

My sbcglobal.net email has worked through Yahoo/ATT for years.

I've tried resetting both my username and password

I've tried accessing my email/ATT account with several different devices

We're here to help with your Email trouble. Are you logging into your Email at https://currently.att.yahoo.com/? Is your Email linked to any AT&T services? Have you tried logging in while under incognito/private browsing mode?

I'm having the exact same issue though I am able to access my email through my iphone. This started about a week ago. I've had this email address for 15+ years. I have my landline account through AT&T but no other services. I've verified username and have reset password multiple times and have received an email verifying password change was complete. I've cleared cookies and updated JAVA also. Nothing has worked. AT&T, please help.

I am  having the same issues.  I can not log into my yahoo email from a computer just my iphone.  I have tired everything and not sure what else to do or call.

Same, I can log onto myAtt on my phone, but no email anywhere. Been an ATT customer since the 80's, but this is unacceptable. no email for days.

Are you also trying to access a legacy email domain like SBCGlobal or BellSouth?

 

Have you tried accessing your AT&T email through our Currently site? Do you get any error messages?

 

In the meantime, there are a few things you can try to resolve email issues:

  1. Reset your email password
  2. Check your email client settings. With the current security update, if you manage your email through a client-server, like Outlook or Apple Mail, you may need to adjust the settings to continue receiving your email

This is ridiculous. This is a third tier issue. My Att account is fine.  I can login to my att account fine. The real issue is that my old email inbox was hosted by yahoo years ago. That inbox is not tied to my current account. 
so you need an exchange administrator to correct the issue. Until then I will always get this error;

 

 

Your user ID is not authorized.

i curr  have phone ser with att and i have service with directv.

I am having the same problem as others.  Within last four or five days, I cannot log in to to get my email.  I get the care code 205.4.  How can this problem be resolved?  I can get email on my phone but not good to answer on there.  I need to get it on the computer.  Please advise what I can do to restore my email.

I do not have an account with AT&T.  This Yahoo email is from probably 20 years ago.  Who do I contact to get this fixed?

Just spent the last 4 HOURS on the phone with AT&T.  It was a horrible experience.   Called the 1st time got a lady, nice enough, but couldn't help me, said she would call me back after talking with Upper Tech, would take about 5 mins.  NEVER called back.  I called again got a guy, nice enough again, sat with him for about another hour and a half, said he was transfering me to the Upper tier tech.  Call dropped, he did call back but dropped the call again, never called.  Called them back got a different guy, same household because they both had roosters crowing in the background. huh, must have been take your rooster to work day.  Went through all the same stuff AGAIN and still didn't work.  Then he tells me, we can get to your account here so it's working fine.  I said, I'm glad you can get to my e-mail there, BUT I STILL CAN'T.  I am taking my business elsewhere, they have a problem and won't fix it.  Miffed off in TX

There is a notification that AT&T has changed the userID format. You now have to use an email address.

If you have been using, like me, an alias for 15 years, that will no longer work, and every body thank AT&T for sending this notification in the mail, or including in the bill (we still get a paper bill). 

But no!

That would be expecting too much.

I have had an sbcglobal.net email for over 20 years. And I too,  had the problem of suddenly not being able to get into my email unless I used Edge, I have used chrome for at least 10 years. The problem is ATT has changed the login website and when I go to yahoo..com, put my email in and password, chrome redirects me to the wrong place to log in. I used the address https://currently.att.yahoo.com that was posted on this site and now I can get into my email again.  I only use web email and I always use my full email as the user id. I just wish they would quit popping up that message when I choose to stay logged in for 2 weeks

Same problem here, I spent hours being told I was stupid for not understanding the difference between password, passcode  and security word.  Their own letter uses pass code and pass word as the same. I've tried every browser , cleared cache, reset password , flossed my teeth . 

 

ATT just fiddles with us , our time is of no importance. They just blamed me.
