Can no longer access web mail with iPad iOS12

I have been using Safari and currently.com to access my email on both my Mac and iPad.

AT&T mail stopped working with iPad browser Safari. I just downloaded Chrome in case it was an issue with Safari, no luck.

I can enter my username and password but then there is a blank page.

Have made NO changes to settings - seems to be an issue with iOS accessing the web page/site.

Still works fine with my Mac using a browser.

Hello @sfphoto,

Let’s get you back into your email.

To begin we recommend updating your iOS from 12 to the latest iOS 14 if possible.

For help with updating or additional support for iPad or Safari we recommend visiting Apples support page.

Along with that here are some items that may also solve the issue.

  • Clear your history
  • Clear your cache and cookies
  • Make sure you are not using any saved login information

If you experience the same issues after following the above steps we recommend vising our email support page.

We hope this helps @sfphoto, please let us know if we can be of any further assistance.

Thanks for reading my post.

iOS 12 is NOT the issue as one can use the same version of Chrome or Firefox browser with different iOS versions.

I have been accessing AT&T mail at currently.com for the past several months with this iPad and iOS12.

Starting a week ago after signing in I get a blank page that flickers.

I cleared ALL the browser settings. I also downloaded a different browser. Still no luck.

I have another iPad with iOS8 and it works FINE with currently.com, I just checked. I had never used that iPad before for mail.

Hello @sfphoto,

While we have seen different iOS versions (current or outdated) cause browser issues let’s see what else we can do.

Because it is opening on other devices it brings us back to wanting to do some troubleshooting on this specific device. While we can offer up some basic troubleshooting we do recommend visiting Apples iPad support page.

In the meantime let’s try to remove data related to that site to see if it fixes the issue.

  1. Choose Safari > Preferences.
  2. Click the Privacy icon.
  3. Click the Details button.
  4. Search for the name or domain of the website whose data you want to remove.
  5. In the results list, click the domain (like http://sm.att.com/a7734746) that has data you want to remove.
  6. Click Remove.
  7. When you're finished, click Done and close the preferences window

We hope this helps @sfphoto, please let us know if we can be of any further assistance.

Thanks for the add'l info. However-

Until this month I was able to access currently.com with iOS12.

It is the same on three iDevices that have iOS12.

With iDevices with iOS8 it works.

With Mac computers it works.

I can sign in to att.com and review my account just fine.

It is only when trying to check mail at currently.com that there is a problem when it tries to re-direct to att.yahoo

I use Private browsing mode on all devices so I have to sign in every time which is OK.

Such eliminates the need for clearing cache/cookies etc.

Hello @Charliecat,

Let’s take a look at what’s going on.

We would like to start with a few questions.

  • Are you using Currently.com to access your email?
  • Have you tried accessing your email on any other device?
  • Have you tried other internet browsers?

It looks like we currently have engineers working on this issue as it is a known problem but in the meantime you may try some of the following steps to see if we can get this working for you.

  • Clear your history
  • Clear your cache and cookies
  • Make sure you are not using any saved login information
  • Make sure your iPad and iPad apps are up to date
    • For help with updating or additional support for iPad or Safari we recommend visiting Apples support page.

We hope this helps @Charliecat, please let us know if we can be of any further assistance.

Thanks for your response.  I actually access my email through Outlook on my PC and  through Mailbox on my iPhone and iPad.  that works so I see my email OK.

In addition I like to check the Spam folder through the Currently website daily.  I can do that on my PC but I cannot get in on my iPad or iPhone.

Hey @Charliecat,

The main trouble seems to have cleared.

If you are still having trouble signing in. Here some things you can try.

  1. Have you tried logging in through a different web browser or device?
    • If able to log in using a different web browser.
      • On the trouble browser, you will need to either update your browserclear cache, cookies, and saved passwords.
        • When clearing cache and cookies, select a time when your services were working correctly or "Forever."
      • Or, you may need to disable add-ons one by one to find out which add-on is causing the trouble.
    • If able to login through a different device.
      • Trouble most likely lies in the software added to the device.
        • Most commonly the trouble would be found in the Firewalls, anti-virus, anti-malware, or password lockers.
  2. Are you using an Email client?
  3. Email endless loop before signing in?

Find additional helpful resources on our Email Not Working page.

Let us know if this helps.

Well, it must be an issue with my iPad.  I tried three browsers, Safari, Chrome and Edge.  Cannot get into webmail with any of them.  Log in does not work.

Hey there, @Charliecat!

One more question before we look deeper into this. Are you able to login to your e-mail using Currently, from AT&T? If you are unable to do so, we will need to assist you with a password reset, or you can attempt to do so yourself.

Let us know, we look forward to hearing back from you!

Donovan, AT&T Community Specialist
