att.net email keeps making me set personal password every time I try to login
every time I try to log on to browser based mail I run into this:
login screen comes up, I enter email and password. Then it takes me to a screen that wants me to “set personal password” - even if I do set a new password, or put same password, into the screen, it will come back through this process again next time I try to log on. This is getting extremely frustrating
This happens with multiple email accounts

How long have you noticed this happening? Did anything change with your email prior to this, such as having your password reset by an AT&T representative over the phone or in a chat?
Have you tried using the Forgot Password process to reset your password manually, and then see if you still get this loop?

I know this post is from a year ago, but I’m having this issue right now. I’ve been through a dozen passwords. I had it linked to iOS mail then it just stopped working and asked me for a password. I logged into my same account via Safari and got in. I even clicked the 2 week button. Now I’m back to square one. This email account is for my business.

There has been a security update for using AT&T Emails with Email Clients. You will need to add a Secure Email Key or OAuth to be able to check your Email using an Email client.

So, now a 2 month post, but this is my situation although there are no business accounts or client involved - was just “dropped” on iPad, tablet and iPhone by att. Saying needed to put in password. Created a new password (several times) as asked and can sign into the account on yahoo.mail just fine but when trying to add the account on each device I have the same problems as this post from a year ago and 2 months ago. Please help me get back online with my emails!

Same thing is happening to me. Computer is making me change the password, saying I've tried logging in too many times (on first or second attempt). After I create a new password, computer stops syncing with my Iphone even after changing the password to match. So frustrating.

I'm having the exact same problem. Have had to change my password like six times now due to too many logins and I have a saved password and only logged in once!
