ATT Yahoo contacts missing info

I kept alot of information on the old ATT Yahoo contact pages for individuals. Their physical address, information notes in the note section, etc. Now that is all gone. Or is it? Is there a way to retrieve all my old information?

Thank you for your help. I didn't do the restore, becasue my emails are not missing. A different broswer didn't help. Yahoo was helping me, then stopped because they said they had a contractual agreements with ATT and couldn't go any further. I changed my password and decided to take a chance and switch to the newest ATT-Yahoo mail. I now have the full version rather than the basic. All my address book information is back. It's just in a different format with less options. Probably for security reasons. It's not as user friendly for me. But I can't complain it has all my information.

Hello @bethom,

We understand that you have a problem with missing email contacts. Don't worry, we can help with that.

Do you see your profile picture or is it grayed out? this will help you with restoring your email contacts. Please let us know if that helps at all.

I have my email list in contacts, but nothing else. I haven't check to see if I am missing any email addresses.
What I am missing is all the other information that was with the email. Like home adress, home phone #, notes, etc. Everything that was in the old address book.

I don't have a profile picture, just a gray generic one.

I am not able to do anything on the contact page. There is not an action tab at the top.

Thank you,
Barbara Thomas

@bethom.

The Restore Request that Charles was referring to reverts your email to how it was 7 days ago. If this happened less than 7 days ago, you may be able to get your contacts and other info back by submitting a restore request.

Before you try this though, we'd recommend accessing your email in different browsers, or on different devices.

Let us know if this works for you!

think I was a victim of the "Switch to the newest ATT-Yahoo mail inbox" scam. About a month ago my email format changed. Now in the contact tab, I have names & emails only. I have lost the yahoo address book, with home addresses, phone #'s, notes, etc. I looked at my recent activity and my account was accessed by 2 apps Soth Korea & Japan. I changed my password.

Hello @bethom,

Thanks for providing that information. Did the restore request help at all in regards to the Yahoo address book?

Also, does using a different web browser make a difference?

Please let us know.

Where would I find the option in webmail to restore contacts? It does not appear anywhere once I select contacts.

Hi @fstoler, we are happy to help.

Generally, you can restore individual contacts you deleted in the past 30 days.

If you can’t find the contacts you're looking for in Deleted Contacts, you can restore your full list of contacts.

Good to know: If you choose to restore all your contacts, you'll restore them from a backup from a particular date.

If you’ve added new contacts since the backup, you’ll lose them. Before you try to restore your contacts, back up your current list by exporting them.

To restore all of your contacts:

  1. Select Contacts Contacts icon and then Deleted Contacts.
  2. Choose Restore from backup.
  3. Select the date and time you want to restore your contacts to. If there isn't a list of dates available, we couldn't find any contacts from your address book to restore.
  4. Select Restore. You’ll see a confirmation if your contacts were restored successfully.

Let us know if you have any questions.

I don't know why you don't seem to keep not reading what I write parade there is no option to restore contacts. When I click on the contacts it doesn't give me the option to restore any.

This can sometimes be caused by an out of sync issue on the server. Try adding a new contact to force a sync and potentially restore your contacts.

Tried that.  There is still no option to restore contacts... only to IMPORT from another file or Export to .csv

If the issue is the server, as you suggest, which is what I suspect... how can we get to a restore date to retrieve my contacts?

And there is no option to back up the few new contacts, either.

@fstoler

At this time, we're unable to recover the contacts. We have plans to have this feature added back into webmail, but we don't have an ETA yet.

If you need assistance with anything else, let us know.
