What is the deal with the weak WiFi signal lately?

I live in Jacksonville, FL and our signal has been abysmal for the last two weeks. My PS4 has been sluggishly downloading the same game for over two days at about 1.5 mbps, and that’s only when the signal doesn’t drop out entirely. Video streaming is also getting worse & worse with each day regardless of which streaming service I use.
