Transfer of Billing Responsibility not working

For about 10 days we have been trying to ACCEPT a TOBR (transfer of billing responsibility). Previous account holder has completed their portion and sent me the necessary info. She had a chat session with an ATT rep at the time to walk her through it.

 

We go to att.com/tobr and do our part, filling in the required info and accepting the terms. Then we get this error:

 

SD024: We apologize for the inconvenience. We are currently experiencing a temporary system error that prevents us from retrieving your account information. Please wait a few moments and try again.

This has been going on for 10 days. We have called, chatted, and used Twitter but reps have been very unhelpful, not understanding what we are doing. They keep trying to sell us NEW service. 

 

Can someone in the community help?

The transfer of billing responsibility process is initiate only, where both parties give and accept the responsibility. Since that is done, we'd love to look into this for you here!

Thanks, but I called back over and over until I finally got someone that knew what it was and how to complete it.

CS agents need much more training I think.

I am having an issue with accepting a transfer as well. I get to step 4 (ACCEPT BILLING RESPONSIBILITY Review credit check disclosure 4 of 5) of accepting the transfer and keep getting this error:

Hmm … something isn't working right here.Please try again later.

This has been an ongoing issue. I was on the phone with CS for almost 4 hours last night and I still can not accept this.

Let's get that bill transferred over, @MLee02!

 

You can find all the necessary steps that you and the account holder will need to take for the transfer to to go through under the section titled Guidelines for transferring a bill. After performing the steps, you are unable to accept still, we recommend that you contact us at 800.288.2020 for further assistance.

 

If you need further assistance beyond this, please make a new thread as this one is subject to being closed at any moment due to it's age.
