separate email groups in subaccounts?

I just created a subaccount, and expected it to function as a separate "email box", with a separate login and password.

What I see in a Chrome browser, is the primary email account email box visible under BOTH - even when using the add and manage accounts button in the upper right corner of the interface.

How can I get totally separate email boxes with an ATT U-verse account?

We will do all we can to help you with your email accounts. This may be a Chrome function, in which we have no control over. 

Have you tried to access your sub-account through a different browser?

If not, please do so and let us know if you encounter the same problem.

@ATTHelp Yes, I just tested again on Firefox, and have exactly the same issue.

I can provide more details: The "interference" seems to come from the function Add or Manage accounts, under the profile icon - when you try to add both the main account and sub account to the same browser window. The first will work, the second will not, yet will complete as it was successful. The desired (correct) behavior would be to show the associated email messages when the profile account is selected - ie when you pick the sub-account, only those messages show - and then when you pick the main account, only those messages show.

Which was the original question - should the email messages be kept and shown separately? Or is a sub account, somehow "merged" with the main account?

Is there a way that I can have two totally separate email boxes with a standard U-verse service?

What client are you using for your email? Have you tried troubleshooting your email? We recommend that you use OAuth or a secure mail key so that you can access both emails.
