Promised $500 in VISA Gift Cards found out tonight I was lie too.

On January 10, 2018 I called 1-*** after getting a mail solicitation for a $300 VISA gift card to inquire about the internet speed that was available in my area.  After a brief discussion with the sales agent I was told that if I signed up “today” she was authorized to give me a $200.00 VISA for Direct TV and a $300.00 VISA Gift Card from AT&T Since I was switching from Mediacom my local service provider.  I confirmed with her it was a total of $500.00 So I scheduled my install for January 20, 2018. Prior to my installation I called the Reward Center to confirm the offer but I was told that nothing would be in there system until 30 days after my install.  Well today was the 30th day so I called the reward center back a I was told there was nothing but a $200 VISA Gift Card in there system.  After explaining to her what ai was promised she said I would have to talk to Customer Service.  Which he went back and said he read the notes but there was nothing in the notes as to what I was offered.  I then asked to speak to a manager he refused and said a manager would tell me the same thing so then I asked to speak to the cancelation department he then said he was transfering me but never did.  So I called from my house phone and told the automated system that I wanted cancellations and after 6 minutes got the “loyalty department”.  (I am still on hold on my cellphone just to see if he was ever going to transfer me). I explained to the loyalty department representative everything for a 3rd time and I was told that she could make it $300.00.  I told her either AT&T is training their employees to lie or the employees are lying to get their acceptance numbers up.  I then told her I know I am not the only one calling in with this complaint and she admitted she has gotten countless calls just like mine.  I then asked how many cancelled when they weren’t given what was promised?  She said none because you can cancel your AT&T services but Direct TV charges an early termination fee and for me that would be $480.00. I said you know what make me your first because if everyone canceled that was lied to AT&T /Direct TV would get to the bottom of this fraud and I let her know they can wait for their $480.00 Doing this for the principle of it and it isn’t over.

The same thing was promised to me too $500 for direct Tv and $100 for internet and I called back just to Check but I was told that promotion doesn’t exist and I might have misunderstood the employee and the manager who both talked and confirmed it to me. All they do is apologize and say we can’t make that offer. They lie and scam you to get you caught up on a net and then give you $200 and charge you about a bunch of stuff later on to get the promotion back. So basically it’s a false advertisement.

The the funny thing is I was promised March 24 of 2018 and they said that this never happened before. Good to know that this is their scheme and let everybody know how they lie.

The private note was just a show off they really don’t do anything they just don’t like people to know their scheme

I signed up for Directv last month after they promised to increase the $300 VISA giftcard promotion on the flyer I had received in the mail to $500 VISA giftcard.  After patiently waiting, I finally received $200 VISA giftcard and immediately called Directv. After waiting on hold for 45 minutes, I finally spoke to Yani who told me that my account was only notated for a $200 giftcard and there was nothing she could do. I explained the was even the correct amount for the promotion I was supposed to receive not including the $200 increased I was promised for signing up that day. She told me I would have to call the AT&T reward center. I don’t know how this company gets away with lying right to your face with no consequences!! This company needs to step up and take responsibility.

I got scammed with not only the $500 visa but was told we would save $350 on each of 2 new iPhone X cell phones. We got no discount or the $500 visa reward. This is the second major issue I have had with att big regret switching to there services. Phone service is good but customer service is horrible.

We have been waiting 3 months ahead of what they told us and the two times we've called in the past two weeks, everyone has denied saying there is no such thing as this promotion. We were first told to wait 60 days, no gift cards. Then three months passed, no gift cards. And now flat our denial and just these automated fake promises of individual emails to discuss options. Solution: don't present a fake promotion, that is fraud!

The problem is AT&T has contract companies making promises just to get a sales.  And since they aren’t on the AT&T payroll AT&T doesn’t think they are can be held accountable for these  breeches in verbal agreements but they want to ruin your credit if you don’t follow through. What I believe is going to be their down fall is there intentional failure to provide the consumer with a means to verify said rewards before they are locked into a contract.  After cancelling my contract and wasting countless hours talking with customers service reps they was offered me a total of $400.00 which I eventually collected
