Massive Internet Usage for no good reason!
Hello,
I have seen other posts with not much info or help from AT&T, but maybe I missed something. I have seen an incredible increase in my home internet usage with no real or apparent reason why?! Maybe I have a tab or two open on my phone, but it is just me and my boy. My boy is a dog, so unless Gary has learned to shop on Chewy I cannot explain why this has happened and caused my plan to exceed it's limit?!
Please help! THank you!

Well, that's what this whole thread is about, trying to get them to A) acknowledge it is an issue and B) come up with an excuse explanation that holds water.
What would you say is a viable solution if my conjecture is correct? What if you really are using 2TB?
Almost nobody really knows what their true usage is and the small % who have hardware to monitor it often say it never matches AT&T, sometimes way high, sometimes way low.

My problem maybe different than others, I had unlimited, which they took away from me when they discontinued my plan.
I think unlimited should be included when you use Direct tv stream. I am paying for their streaming and shouldn't incur a penalty for using it with their internet.

I was getting no where and when CS told me again to change to unlimited, I got a little nasty and ended uptalking to retention.

DTV is a separate company (yeah I know). It would be like asking them to give people unlimited if they have YT TV, Hulu, etc.
Weird, what plan did you have and what were forced to switch to?

Ha, separate company with 70% ownership by AT&T and still on my AT&T account.
I believe it was just called internet 40, it was $60 a month with unlimited GB. I was switched to internet 50/10 with 1.5 TB.

@JoeRut @tonydi On the phone with CS now, so pray for me! lol! They are trying to tell me it is ALL my usage and to throw a band-aid at me in the form of a $30 credit for next month. Like, no - that isn't solving the issue! And now being pushed to the technical team for more run-around I am sure.

After almost 2 hours and 3 separate areas, I was finally able to get someone to listen to me. No one told me it was their (AT&T) fault or issue and at one point inferred I was lying about receiving emails about my usage and the extra $10 per 50gb used. That was the "technical services" area to which I read the email verbatim to her. She tried pushing the upgrade to me and I said I didn't need it. Finally, the "customer loyalty" area provided me a monthly discount and moved me to an unlimited plan (which the technical person said they "could not, under any circumstance" do). So, my monthly bill should be less and remain less going forward, but I feel I had to fight tooth & nail just to be "given' this much. Take it for what it's worth. Did I have better things to do with 2 hours of my time? yes. But I wasn't going to keep paying whatever the $10 per 50 GB would have been each month!

You got the same as I did, but didn't take me that long.
I guess it depends on the CS rep.
Just got my new bill today, it's listed as unlimited with a monthly credit.

I’m still having this issue and mine started at the same time as the rest of you - in November. I called CS and no help at all!
