Internet won’t work

We just reconnected our internet and paid the bill today. After paying, it still said the broadband wouldn’t configured. So I reconnected the cables and now the broadband is flashing green on my U-Verse. But now it’s saying there is a Gateway Authentication Failure. I’ve rebooted numerous times and reset the U-verse but nothing is working.

We can help get you connected, @Cmhall23

The flashing green broadband light indicates the Gateway is starting up and trying to establish a broadband connection.  Because you are getting the Authentication Failure message, it was unable to establish the connection needed.

There are a few things we can check to get you going:

  1. Log in to your account to make sure it shows in good standing. You can also download the myAT&T App for easier access on a mobile device by texting myATT to 556699
  2. Check the connections one last time, to make sure everything is in good condition.
  3. Check for an outage in your area. If there is an outage, we will get it repaired as soon as possible.
  4. Factory Reset your Gateway. If you had a custom network name or password, this will restore to the default settings found on the side of your Gateway. This step can take up to 10 minutes to complete.

After the reset is complete, if the broadband light turns solid green, close any browser windows and try again.

If the broadband light does not turn solid green or if you still get the Authentication Failure, try out our Troubleshoot and Resolve Tool.  When logged in to your account, this tool walks you through account-specific troubleshoot, can run outside line tests, and even schedule a technician appointment if needed.  You can even access this tool through the myAT&T App by clicking the Support Icon in the bottom menu.

Let us know if these steps get you back online,
