How do I get my Veteran Discount?

We have been your customer for over 40 years at this address.  First for a land line, then internet and Direct TV.

I am a veteran of the US Air Force.  Where is our discount?  We have cell phone service on our daughter's plan.

There are perks for new customers.  What about long time loyal customers?

@annie032167 I am retired Air Force and have been an ATT internet customer for about 10 years, Directv even longer. Neither has offered any kind of military discount until just recently but you must have ATT wireless to get it, and only if you have one of the Unlimited & More plans. It has nothing to do with customer loyalty. No other tv service or internet provider offers a military discount to my knowledge. I went ahead and switched to Unlimited & More last month, I got the military discount added to my internet and Directv within a day of changing.

Not helpful for us.  I already knew that.  In our area Verizon has the best reception so we are not changing.  Loyal customers must not count with you.

It doesn't matter whether they count to me.  This is a public forum and I'm just another user here.

Forget it.  I guess I thought I might get a helpful answer.  AT&T must not answer anything.

@annie032167 Thank you for your service.

This is a peer-to-peer forum and is NOT moderated by ATT.  We are customers just like you and offer information and advice when we can as clearly and concisely as we can.

The link in post #2 above offers all the information (ie: 25% off Unlimited & More wireless plan, $15 off TV and/or internet if you are a wireless customer).

You could visit an AT&T store and inquire if the information provided online is unclear.

My name is Joseph Domingue and I have been a customer of Direct TV for over 2 years.  I am 90 years old and I am a disabled veteran.  My bill has jumped up $50.00.  The reason I switched to Direct TV was because Cox Communications was getting to be too expensive for me.  I live on a limited income and my only pastime is to watch my western movies.  Can you please look at any promotions or discounts that I can receive; otherwise I will be forced to disconnect my services entirely.

I would appreciate anything that Direct TV can do to help me with the increasing cost of my Direct TV bill.

Thank you,

Joseph Domingue/Kathleen Mathews, daughter, power of attorney

@jndomingue This forum is not customer support. You need to call Directv, at the voice prompts say “cancel service”, that should connect you to a retention specialist. Tell them the same thing you posted here and see if they offer any discounts. My bill is about to jump up $50 too because I called last year and got $50 off per month for 12 months. My last bill was month 12. You probably had a similar discount or new customer pricing.

I have applied multiple times in the last two weeks and it still has not shown when I ask if it’s in process. I understand it will not be applied for some number of billing cycles. The chat agent says it is was being pushed to “Senior Managment” I guess we will see. I also do not understand why once applied why the discount is not retroactive to the date of approval. Being on a fixed income I appreciate the cost reduction
