How am I supposed to get internet worth a crap if AT&T has monopolized this area?

I live in rural Alabama. I have a 7 yo who homeschools but 85% old his work had too new done with physical books because we can't have a dependable connection. This mess is SO pathetic, he got an Xbox for Christmas but can't play it! For a year and a half the (Edited per community guidelines) THAT AT&T had pulled with my account is criminal or bordering on it. (it SHOULD be illegal.) Their equipment is garbage, the connection, which brings only 6 MBPs inn pathetic download if it's working, is A(Edited per community guidelines)OLUTE TRASH. WORKERS HAVE LIED TOO ME ANDS STOLEN FROM ME. Even with the they off a modern I paid for, I had to FORCE them to give me a replacement. It's against their own policy to have a tech take out old equipment and they three wanted to give me grief? I live in Verbena, Alabama and need to know if there's any company besides AT&T that provides internet here. And, yes, I've looked online.

There is a NEW offering ATT AIR released April 2023, was not an option a year ago.

https://www.att.com/internet/what-is-internet-air/

check your address to see if the product has reached your area, if not yet recommend checking once a month.

The product is designed for underutilized cell tower with no high speed hardwired service.

Think anything internet 6 or less legacy DSL (150G data cap) or Uverse ADSL2+ with speeds of 18 or less and 1T data cap.

There are six ISP that service the zip code, 2 are satellite internet companies that would offer higher speeds. Additional 2 companies offering cellular internet.

I doubt ATT has monopolized the area, most companies such as local cable have to be able to make money or choice not to build.

Well, my thoughts, you can THINK whatever heats your skillet but if you don't live here, and your comment makes it obvious that you don't, then how about putting this back in the realm of people who KNOW what's happening here? Because NONE of the services you included work here. And I don't count satellite because I CAN'T WORK using a satellite connection. The other companies swear up and down they will service here, but when you put in the address, like magic, they disappear. Since AT&T is out here but refusing to provide something besides a (Edited per community guidelines) copper line connection to a hub that I was too far from to begin with and STILL they said "Sure, we can get you service at your house!" what, exactly would you call it besides a monopoly?

AS AN ASIDE for AT&T:

When you have people with banners in their info that say they work for you who also come on the community forums to answer questions, you might want to tell them to act like they were raised and then remember that customers pay their paychecks. And if they like the check, they might not want to go around all but calling the customer a liar. You might also try providing something besides the (Edited per community guidelines) poor connection you "service" Verbena with. By the way, you can't say you service this area, because at least according to the FCC you DON'T. We are considered UNSERVED. With pathetic speeds that you can't even keep working and cables that were allowed to run above ground for a mile or better after the stanchion was hit by a tractor, Saying you provide service here is laughable.

Then complain to the FCC because they are the ones who ultimately decide what service providers can offer, speeds, type of service, towers, signal strength, etc etc. AT&T, or any provider for that matter, can't just flip a switch for faster speeds or stronger signal strength, etc. And, if you are in a rural area that only has DSL, you are limited even further because of physical issues.

Most of us who answer posts here in the forums are not AT&T employees (it would say so in our sig lines) and are just customers like yourself. Our answers are based on experience and first hand knowledge in a lot of cases. We get nothing for this from AT&T and a lot of grief from some posters.
