HELP! I need 6mbps

Hi everyone,

I currently have 3mpbs dsl which is absolutely horrible.  Not bad for doing one thing, but when you add multiple things going on at one time, it slows down tremendously.  I have tried for a long time to call in and get someone that can help and understand my sitation.  I know for a fact that I have a line from ATT that will support 7mbps (I know there is no plan that is 7mpbs, but 6mbps would work on a 7mbps line).  They tell me that 6 mbps is not offered, and will not offer any other solutions for me.  I have been told that I am in range to receive the 6mbps service.  We are not that far from the DSLAM.  Will ATT under any circumstance help me get a 6mbps service.  I am a business customer, overpaying as it is, and they will not work with me in the least.  UVerse is not offered, and this is just overpriced for what I am getting.  The thing about the whole thing is 6mbps is the same price as the 3mbps service, and I know for a fact they can give me more speed just by changing things around at the office.  I have seen over 3.0 on my line while they are doing tests.  Someone give me some direction, and ask me questions if I was not clear.

Thanks for the suggestion.  Do you think it is possible to get this internet upgrade by someone.  I understand ATT doesn't care about DSL customers any more, but as an overpaying business customer I would appreciate consideration.  Whenever I call, they just say it is not available, but like I say I know it could be given if someone just cared enough to deal with me.

I have a slight update to my situation.  I had a tech come out to my house yesterday for a problem I have been having with my service.  Very nice tech and very nice agent I talked to.  When the tech was at my house, he told me that 11mbps was coming to the nid outside of my house.  He sent in a request for me to get higher service, but he said I will hear back from them sometime today.  Hopefully I will have a great post to post after tonight, but the way ATT works, I doubt it.  He told me that there should be no reason I couldn't get the service, and he can't see that the area is capped (considering there aren't that many homes).  The thing I don't get is if 11mbps is already coming to my nid outside of my home, why cant they just reprovision my modem to allow 6-11mbps to my home.... Makes sense to me...
