You need to speak with AT&T's Global Fraud Department to discuss the identity theft dispute. This is a public customer to customer forum.

Hi Carina

Your sensitive data is not safe with AT&T. It is possible their employees took part in the fraud as this is exactly what happened to me in Nov 2022. AT&T is using deceptive practices to sell products. I assume it is to fluff their earnings reports. AT&T fraud department investigation results for my situation yielded nothing. They said no fraud happened when it clearly was AT&T employees who altered my account to another person's name, confirmed to that person (in AT&T store #K933) that my account belonged to them and sold an iphone 14 to the person they illegally gave my account to. After AT&T realized their error and updated my account, the AT&T fraud team sent an email saying I was responsible for the charges made when fraud took place. The worst thing is I lost my pre-approved FHA mortgage due to the new charges incurred. (My lender agreement stipulated I incur no new debts prior to closing.) Currently I am in the arbitration process with AT&T. I specifically noted the fraud team's report as well. They are a complete joke.

I recommend filing an official AT&T complaint with your state's Atty General and directly to AT&T through Fairshake lawyers.
