Followed instructions on ATT web site to update email, but did not work, help?

When I logged into my ATT account to see if I had a bill due, it took me to a page to set a secure mail key. I followed the instructions which worked until the very last step of pasting in the key i had copied to the clipboard, and the screen that came up did not have a password field. This was for a POP account. Not sure what to do about this, or how to update my email now.

In order to complete the process of updating your email address, we suggest following the troubleshooting steps in our support article for email trouble. Start with the section titled WebMail and Features Troubleshooting. Then follow the steps to update your email address again. If you're still unable to complete the process, just let us know.

The only way I can get to the settings that these instructions want to change is if I select repair, not change. I am currently set up to use pop.mail.yahoo.com. Am I supposed to change that to:? Seems like this is changing more than just a secure mail key?

Confirm or enter the following IMAP or POP settings:

Incoming server: imap.mail.att.net (IMAP) or inbound.att.net (POP3)

Outgoing mail server: smtp.mail.att.com (IMAP) or outbound.att.net (POP3)

@JackIsJustFine.

You should be able to update your email to see your bills again by signing into our Troubleshoot & Resolve Tool, selecting Email Setup and Repair under Common Topics, and then selecting Setup or Update Email Application.

Let us know if this fixes it!

I appreciate the response and help. I had actually selected the option to repair, but the instructions want me to change the server name to either Incoming server: imap.mail.att.net (IMAP) or inbound.att.net (POP3). It is currently set to a POP account, pop.mail.yahoo.com. I have had this account for about 30 years. The instructions seem to be saying change to a new server, but I am unclear if that is actually needed or intended. sorry confused on what the directions are saying. I also assume I am leaving it as a POP rather than converting to an IMAP account. I use Outlook.

Completion of the Complete the Server Information section is required to update your email address for Outlook 2016. Either the IMAP or POP3 server need to be selected.
