Elite DSL service crawling at 1.4 Mbs 24/7 every day.

When I power down the modem it takes hours to reset if it resets at all. If I reset using the mini-reset button (not WPS) on the Netlink modem it generally reboots to 5 Mbs and stays there for only about an hour before speed drops again to 1.4. Checked all cables. Could the power supply be going bad? Maybe its time for me to close out my ATT acount and go with 2nd Gen High speed Satellite and phone.
