DSL Dropped Connections

Why is it that every month after my auto- payment is made, my internet won't stay connected to the service? It drops constantly and is basically unusable. Why is it that the one week before that auto-pay my service is great and reliable? For one week, another half week before, if I'm lucky.  My usage data is always 3-4 gb out of 15 gb allowed.

Let's get your DSL service running better, @Hui_Mei

We recommend you try our DSL troubleshooting steps if you haven't already.

  1. Unplug the power cord from the back of your gateway or modem. If you have:
    • An internal battery backup, remove it
    • DSL, unplug the phone cord from your modem or gateway
  2. Wait 20 seconds.
  3. Put the internal battery back in if you have one.
  4. Plug the power cord back in. If you have DSL service, reconnect the phone cord.
  5. Wait for the gateway or modem to restart and your Broadband light to turn solid green. This can take up to 10 minutes.

If this doesn't help, please let us know! We may need to get someone out there to take a look at your equipment.

Hey @Hui_Mei can you confirm that your broadband router is the ARRIS BGW210-700 with firmware version 4.21.5?  If so, then you are experiencing what several other DSL service customers are seeing.  This firmware update seems to have been pushed out by AT&T over the past six weeks or so.  In my case, if I try to upload a large file (like when my machine attempts to backup to a cloud drive), my service wobbles and I am unable to ping the default gateway at AT&T.
