CARE CODE: 205.2 [LU003] message

I have had a problem with my email since changing my password on May 25, 2020, I have to log in with user name and password every time I want to view my account. i have checked stay logged in for 2 weeks. Now today, I was locked out for too many attempts to log in. I was on the phone with AT&T for 30 minutes and was told my account was unlocked and I should wait an hour and try again. I waited for an hour and half and I'm still getting the message. Any help??

If you are getting this error code, it's best to just realize you're screwed. If you have 5 or 6 hours to waste call Tech Support. They will transfer you around until someone hangs up on you. Let me assure you they are absolutely clueless. The only way I can see around this problem is to cancel DirecTv.

I still have access to the original login link from AT&T before they changed it to https://currently.att.yahoo.com/ I have had and still have the same issues as everyone else. I click the link to sign in to my email account with my att.net email (that I have had for several years) and it tells me "There have been too many failed sign in attempts. To get help, please use Forgot user ID or Forgot password links.".  I know this is not true.

It is long and ridiculous but it works. It looks like this

Thank you Shtohryn!  I was looking at all of these posts feeling hopeless and thinking I won't even bother calling Yahoo or AT&T but then this last post (yours!) and the link WORK!  I've had the same problems as everyone else. Sign in to Yahoo, it takes me to AT&T sign in. Then I get the CARE CODE 205.2 too many failed attempts message. I select forgot password, go through the process of security questions and new password. Try it again, and the cycle starts all over.  This is on both laptops (however my mobile if fine). Was ready to give up and start using my gmail acct. as primary. But your link worked, hope it continues, thanks again! This was worth the effort. Have been dealing with this for weeks.

I logged into my account and tried resetting my password. After many failed attempts it kicked me out for 24 hours. Even after I did the temporary passwords and everything. It gave me different care codes. I tried everything that all the forums and chats have said and nothing has worked. I believe this is an At&T issue.

I’m having the same issue since yesterday.  My Microsoft account was hacked into so I assumed these were related and they were trying to get into my email as well, but now I’m thinking this is an AT&T problem.  I also can’t access the security page on Yahoo to set up 2 factor authorization.

There are a few suggestions we can give to help with this:

  • Try clearing the cache/cookies on the browser you are trying to access the email from.
  • You may also try accessing the page using a different browser entirely.
  • If that does not work, check out our Email Troubleshooting Information for additional steps that may help get you back in.

 

 If the above does not help please let us know a few more specifics.

  • Are you having the exact same error as the original poster ( CARE CODE: 205.2 [LU003] )?
  • Are you accessing your email from the website or using an email client?

I am having the exact same issue, for nearly a week now.  I cannot get into my email at all.  Have tried the steps listed above--no change.  Please work on this.

I have the same error code. Ever since AT&T took over, I no longer can log into my bellsouth.net account. I do not want to switch to a different carrier.

Please help to rectify this problem.

I have had this same issue with ATT logging me out on my iphone. I kept logging in and having to reset my password each time. How annoying. I was on the phone with AT&T for 2 hours this evening and absolutely no help what so ever. I am beyond upset. The first guy who helped me tried to reset my password about 20 times and it kept giving an error saying wrong password, he said he was going to transfer me and after waiting another 25 minutes another guy came on and wasn't from a new department. Tried to start all over doing the same stuff all over. Then said that I shouldn't try to reset my password more than 5 times otherwise I will be locked out for 24 hours and each time I try another 24 hours will be added on. I told him then why did the representative try it 20 times!! He said oh I don't know I'm sorry just wait and try again later. Beyond frustrated. I have important items to address in my email that are time sensitive. AT&T needs to fix whatever the issue is. I'm wondering if it is the sbcglobal.net that is causing the issue. I've even tried to update this account in the past and no luck from AT&T again stating that is my email I have to use....

I talked to Geek Squad and the  said that there is a problem between Att and Chrome.   I got Microsoft Edge and my email worked ok.....but now having trouble with the 24 hour lock out on my phone.  Very frustrating

I had a similar problem and kept getting Error Code 0x8019019a and Care Code LU003.  Jay at AT&T Customer Service helped me find the solution.  The issue was with my browser, not AT&T.  The solution was to un-install the browser, then re-install.  If I get stuck in a loop, the problem is usually the browser.
