Can't remove or hide old, inactive AT&T Internet account

In AT&T's help articles, they list that it's not possible. I don't understand why. I'd love the ability to at least hide an old, inactive account. This is standard from major banks and other digital platforms. Yes, it's not the end of the world and ultimately a very first-world problem, but it's still really annoying.

Are you trying to unlink the inactive account from an AT&T service that's currently active?  

If so, take a look at our article that'll help with removing your old account. To remove a linked account, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to your myAT&T Profile. Sign in if asked.
  2. Scroll to Account Settings and select Linked accounts.
  3. Choose Remove this account for the account you want to unlink. If you try to remove a canceled account with a balance due, we’ll ask you to make a payment.
  4. Select one of these, if asked:
    • A secondary user to replace you as the primary user
    • No one
  5. Choose a new primary account, if asked.
  6. Follow the directions to remove the account from your ID.

Could you explain what you mean by "hide?"  I.e. what a hidden account would (not) look like as opposed to what it looks like now?

@JefferMC It would not show up the UI anywhere. It would be hidden in your Account Settings under a page called “hidden accounts”. You would be able to hide or unhide from that page. This a standard pattern for banking.

@ATTHelp hi, I literally do not have the option to remove an old AT&T Account. It’s listed at the end of the support article you linked.
