Calendar and Contacts from att.net on iPad

Recently I had to reset my att.net access on my PC using Outlook by getting a secure key.  That took some time to figure out by eventually get Outlook working again.  Access to my att.net email from my iPhone was unchanged and continues to work for email, calendar and contacts.  However had unfortunately deleted by att.net email account from my iPad.  I was able to set it up again using the secure key.  However I no longer see any of my contacts or calendar from att.net.  When I add an Mail account, the only choices are "Mail" and "Notes".  I cannot get Contacts, Calendar, Reminders or Notes to come up for a new account.  I have an older iPad which does show att.net email, calendar and contacts.  I appears it's getting the Calendar from a Yahoo server.  Long story but any ideas for adding my calendar and contacts from att.net to my iPad (10.5 Pro) would be appreciated.

Hello, @wfbutler

What you would do is instead of selecting "Other" for your email you would choose Yahoo.

  1. Once you get to the Yahoo sign in page you will sign in with the user name test@currently.com
  2. You should then be redirected to an AT&T login page, you would then enter in your email credentials to log in.
  3. It will then auto set up your email using OAUTH at that time it will give you options to add your calendar and contacts.

I hope this helps!

Let's see if we can get your email back up and running, @wfbutler.

We recommend that you set up your email on your device using Oauth. This encrypts your password and helps protects against hackers and fraudsters.

We also suggest that you make sure your email server settings are correct. These need to be correct in order for your  email to work properly.

Thanks....but the issue I have is on my iPad.  I got my att net email to download to Outlook using a secure key.  I also had to use the secure key to get att net email to download on my iPad.  BUT when I look at the account on the iPad it only shows email and notes.  The problem I have is getting my calendar and contact to also download from att net to my ipad.  I've tried various things, including using the password I use to access att net from Yahoo and also from My ATT site.  The only way I got the email to download to the iPad is using the secure key.  What is NOT downloading to the iPad is my calendar and contacts.  They are not showing as an option on the iPad email account.

Hello, @wfbutler

Have you tried deleting the email and signing back into the email?

As this should resync your email.

I have deleted the email account on my iPad several times and added it back using the secure key (my password used with Yahoo or My Att site don't allow me to add the account).  Every time the account is added, I do get my emails but not the contacts or calendars I have set up in my att net account.  There is only the email and notes selection......nothing for calendar, contacts, etc.  Looking at the incoming mail server and outgoing server information & ports look correct and of course I do get my email.  But again.....no contacts or calendar.  Not sure what to do next as I feel I have tried everything.......but obviously not the right thing if I knew what it was:)

Hello, @wfbutler

When signing into your email try these following steps.

  • Choose http://sm.att.com/d701e597
  • When entering your email instead of using @http://sm.att.com/b41696cb use @currently.com
  • This will redirect you to the AT&T's login which you will then input your att.net email

Once you get logged in using the steps above you should be able to get your contacts and calendar.

Thanks.....and this gets me to my att net email.  But it's not solving the problem of downloading my calendar and contacts to the calendar and contacts app on the iPad.  As I've said above, using the secure key that I have to use now and adding that to my iPad email account along with the correct inbound and outbound servers.....I get my emails using the email app on the iPad (10.5 Pro).  What I can't get to download from att net is my calendar to the calendar app and my contacts to the contacts app on the iPad.  I've been trying creating an account using Yahoo (with my att.net id) but that does work....says unavailable.  What I need I think is the correct information to create a Yahoo account on my iPad that will access the calendar/contacts in att net and download them to the app on the iPad.  Right now the account used to download my att net email to the iPad only has the slider options for "email" and "notes".  What I need is "calendar" and "contacts slider/option in the correct account.

What version of Outlook are you using; is it the same as the version on your older iPad that's getting the contacts and calendar?

Outlook on my PC is Outlook 2013.  Now that I updated the password to a secure key I get emails just fine on the PC.  The problem is the iPad.  When all this started I unfortunately deleted the email account on my iPad.....should not have.  Now when I add an email account I use "Other".  Put in my name, email address, password (secure key) and name of service....ATT Net.  It will no longer take the password used when I log into My ATT or Currently.com.  When it activates I do get my emails from att.net.  However looking at the account information it only shows Mail and Notes.  Therefore it never pulls down my calendar or contacts I have built in att net.  When I compare my iPad to another one belonging to my girlfriend who has an att.net address also, her account info looks different.  At the top of her account it shows Yahoo.  On mine it shows IMAP.  When I look into her account (and she gets email, calendar and contacts from att net) it shows the outgoing mail server "Yahoo! SMTP Server" port 465.  She doesn't show an Incoming server.  Mine shows "imap.mail.att.net".  My Outgoing server shows "smtp.mail.att.net".  I think the issue is I need to somehow gain assess to my ATT Net account from Yahoo which I believe hosts ATT Mail.  I could email someone pictures of both accounts if necessary.

It worked!!!!  I now have my email, contacts and calendar from att net on my iPad.  One thing for your information.  When I selected Yahoo and signed in with [email scrubbed] it did bring my to the att net sign in page but said Yahoo at the top.  I had to input my att.net address and password four (4) times for it to take.  The first time it gave me a blank page, the second and third time it took me back to the att net sign in page.  The fourth time it worked and pulled Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Reminder and Notes.

Thanks a lot for your help!!! This was driving me crazy trying to get full access to my att net mail, calendar and contacts.
