Beyond Frustrated with AT&T DSL!!!!!!!!!!!

Our service used to be better than it is now and we are beyond frustrated. 1.5mg DL is never good but now we can barely surf the web at all.  The problem has gotten progressively worse in the past 2 years.  We used to at least be able to surf the web but not now.  There are constant connection interruptions and we've heard more times than I can count that we have "noise on the line".

We've called and called customer service and stayed on the phone for over an hour each time while some uneducated representative told me to reset the stinking modem and router, blah blah blah! Every time I call, I tell them to please look at the notes from the last several times I called and let's skip the stupidity.  No such luck.  I waste the hour with them until they finally look and see that it's an ongoing problem.   We've had technicians come out but nothing is ever resolved. We've been told that they were placing a "noise profile" on the line.  Whatever!  We've replaced modems and routers because AT&T always blames OUR equipment.  I've requested that they try replacing the line from the box at the road to my house.  Nope! They always have some lame excuse as to what's causing the problem. The last technician was here 3 weeks ago and saw that the problem is with a local hop. I've had technicians tell me that the equipment in my area is old, outdated and in the worst shape they've ever seen.  I've also been told that AT&T has no plans to ever fix the dsl issues because they are focused on rolling out the new fiber optic network.

I run speed tests and ping tests on a regular basis which show pathetic results. I've used PingPlotter and the problem is CLEARLY AT&T's fault but they refuse to fix it.  If I had any other provider available to me, I would kick AT&T to the curb!  They are so pathetic!!!  We are so desparate for a fix that we have talked with a local cable company and we are willing to pay the $1800 to run cable to our house.

We have been loyal customers for many many years and we pay our bill on time each and every month. What are we paying for?  I ask myself that question every day.

ME TOO!! I am having the EXACT same problems! To the point I am ready to go WITHOUT DSL OR INTERNET!

I have had at least TWO technicians come look at my wiring/line and the last one brought me a new modem that worked for less than a day. Countless calls to customer service who do nothing but want my email or phone number to sell me att...NO THANK YOU!

Here's a hint It's NOT MY COMPUTER, IT'S NOT THE MODEM IT'S AT&T! If there was ANY competition in this town att would have NEVER been chosen!

Every single time I call customer service I too go through the same rigamaroll... check this, question that...bascially it is my problem not att. LOOK AT THE NOTES ON MY ACCOUNT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think the real problem is that my DSL line is NOT truly digital! I was told when we moved to Green Acres there were not enough ports to have DSL...then miraculously we did.. ATT's DSL does NOT work! 51 dollars a month for a svc that does NOT work properly is theft!

I refuse to call customer service and go through this nightmare yet again to speak with "Bob" who half speaks english! or with chat where someone is trying to read a script and type at same time. ATT you should be ashamed!
