AT&T Billing me for Service and Equipment I never had installed

I called to have AT&T Internet and Direct TV installed. I ended up deciding to not have anything installed. I never received any service or equipment. I never gave them a signature for any service or equipment. I have spent approximately 6 hours on the phone and another 2 on their Chat. I have been told 4 times that my prospective account has been deleted. However, I continue to receive emails and letters notifying me of my bill due and that I need to return equipment. I am worried this will impact my credit. What can I do or who should I contact to resolve this?
