ATT account locked, unable to log in
Hi, my email account has been locked for about a day due to too many failed login attempts. I can't login on any device, which is very problematic. What should I do now?

I am waiting on my replacement phone due to a defect and cannot get into my account because the only option I have is to send a code to my phone. How do I access my account without the ability to receive a text?

Does it give you the option to use a recovery email? Have you attempt to reset your password then sign in?

No, I do not receive an option to use a recovery email. It only presents my mobile number. I did reset my password but as a secondary authentication it is requiring me to obtain a code via text. I have an apple watch so I tried both my cell and watch number and neither came through to my watch.

Thank you for reaching back out to us.
Unfortunately, there is no email recovery option for you to receive the verification code that way.
Once your replacement cell phone is operational, you'll be able to receive the verification code that way.
We do apologize for the inconvenience.
Should you need to complete any account related tasks, please let us know what you're attempting to do and we can possibly recommend other avenues to complete them another way in the meantime.

@SmithPools - Be forewarned. The "too many failed login attempts" is a known issue to ATT and they are doing nothing about it. See this thread https://forums.att.com/conversations/att-internet-email-security/cannot-log-in-says-too-many-attempts/613e3fedee48532e723b83be I have been dealing with this issue for over 3 weeks now. It takes at least 3 password resets to get back into my account, then I try to login in from a different device moments later and it gives me the same error message. (I can't even get email to set up on my phone now - it is locked in an endless loop of going between the login screen and too many failed attempts). I have cleared the cache, used different browsers, all to no avail. And ATT either gives bot answers or their customer service says, "oh, you have to wait 24 hours and then try again." I hope you have better luck than the rest of us!
