When will Fiber available in my area?

Like many others like me that live in rural areas, we would like to keep updated on the progress of getting faster internet to us.  On the best days I can only get a little over 6M on my DSL line.  We routinely use our phones as hot spots if more than one person is trying to stream anything.  I am in north Texas in a fast growing city where some newer neighborhoods already have fiber.  What about those of us who are in the rural areas of the same city?

AT&T doesn't publicize expansions with the public or with it's local field employees. If you see contractors pulling fiber on poles or underground, it could indicate that fiber is coming. Direct mail notices will be sent if the service is coming when it's nearing completion. However, it's sometimes just being run through a neighborhood on it's way to somewhere else. You should know that AT&T isn't concentrating on fiber expansion in existing neighborhoods any more. Most new fiber is dedicated to 5G towers, government & emergency services and new housing developments.

We're here to help with your fiber questions, @guinm.

Here is more information on when AT&T fiber will be available to you. If you scroll down to the gigabit speeds, when is it coming section and fill out the address research request form. We can research your address to see if it's available at your address.

Let us know if this helps or if you need further assistance.
