Internet availability

I work for AT&T as a wire tech and I have aerial fiber running down my road but all I keep hearing is that it’s unavailable every time I look into it. I can see on the translore app that AT&T fiber is on the pole on my property. I got a help ticket 2 weeks ago and haven’t heard anything. They sold me fixed wireless and said it was all that was available.

We're here to help provide you information on when Fiber will be available, Boone98!


There can be multiple reasons why Fiber isn't available yet, such as the following:

  1. Distance – AT&T Internet is a distance-dependent service. If you are too far away from the equipment, certain services may not be available. This means your neighbor may have service but your home cannot.
  2. Equipment is not available – To get service, AT&T Internet equipment has to be in the area. In some instances, it isn't. We do not have information if or when it will be.

  3. The area is not built for U-verse – Some areas are not U-verse ready. The Community team does not have information if or when it will be. Distance and equipment can play a key in instances like this.

  4. Another competitor services the area - This happens from time to time but it does not mean all services are not available to you. Check out other internet options below!

If your a Uverse Wire Tech in district 3 (SE, Bell South) you know fiber is deployed for specific areas supported by local PFP.

Can the neighbors to immediate left and right order fiber internet service?

IF yes, and you already have an Address Validation case opened with case number need to continue to wait... could be 4 weeks or more due to limited manpower. 

IF no, have fiber terminals been placed?

IF YES to having fiber terminal with none able to order suggests the PFP is not greenlit.

IF NO fiber terminals placed means the fiber on pole is passing to another area.

How long been a WT? Most in our Milwaukee market  have been with the company since 2015 or earlier. There have been some recent hiring, training of about 40 techs when we need about 100...
