Gigapower Little Elm TX
Know two ATT installers for Uverse both very good people with info on Gigapower so I finally asked where in Little ELM is Gigapower actually turned on. As to the Gigapower map showing green for Little Elm. Installer said there is no gigapower in Little Elm yet though Fiber is being laid all over and fiber cabinets are being installed the issue all the new neighborhoods are yet to have the fiber run inside. We have it directly on the main road running along side our sidewalks(Yes we have both flags one for Fiber and the other for the ATT/D) and in my case less than a mile to the school where all ATT fiber boxes and VRAD boxes are installed. Anyone at ATT customer care know when the service will be turned on? Like mention in 2010/2013 posts we mainly have Grande as the other option for Internet which is offering 400mbps but the reliability is questionable compared to Uverse being on 99% time for us. Anyone in Little Elm have Gigapower? Interested to know where it is on!
updated to reflect gigapower not gigabyte.

Hi @desiguy,
Unfortunately we don't have a known time-line. AT&T is unable to disclose availability until it is actually available which we usually find out at the same time as the customer. Go here to check availability and sign-up for updates on Gigapower.

Thanks for the reply. Since this inquiry I was able to get pair bonded to get proper speeds of 30/5. The tech said your in the top 20% area which has 45/5 but I am too far to get the top speed.
At least till gigapower arrives I now have decent speed as mention earlier the only other option was Grande but they are not reliable in the area and those who took them switched back to ATT for net.
Lastly like mentioned the fiber is 1 mile from me at the school where all the ATT boxes including the fiber box is installed verified by the Tech last night when he went to the school where the crossbox is to pair bond me.

Thank you for that update! I have taken this issue to the Presidents office at AT&T and they are stonewalling on telling when and where in Little Elm. I filed a complaint yesterday with the FCC. The only way we can get this done is for the Little ELM city Administration along with the HOA's in Little Elm to start bitchin to AT&T. If we don't do it now it may be put off for several years because of the Time Warner aquistion and 5G. The TWC acqusition is going to to leave them broke and it will be 2020 before we have a chance to get 5g up and running. Pickup your phone and start letting your policticans and HOA know how you feel. AT&T is a political animal and will only get something done if political pressure is applied.

Thanks for the update I tried to talk to the HOA in Little Elm which was clueless and technically challenged a few months back. After speaking to them they refused to do anything or even reach out to AT&T even though 98% or higher of neighborhood has AT&T internet with Direct TV some (are still on Uverse for TV).. The other 1% or less are on Grande. To Grande's credit more people since are switching off AT&T to Grande for Internet do to the lack of speeds one can get on copper against Grande's hybrid fiber network, and Grande has improved the service of being a lot more reliable since.
To the post the best option is to get the Little Elm city admin involved. As stated before the neighborhood is not even 10 years old why ATT did not lay fiber in the first place is beyond thinking but they did what they did. Two things will occur down the road one Grande will bring Fiber to the area directly they already offer it in some other places which then will force ATT to higher a contractor and bring the fiber inside the neighborhood (AT&T has already run the fiber outside).
If I did not know the tech, and I did not get pair bonded I would have moved to Grande for Internet a few months back but I wait for my contract and bundle now to end in 1.5 years.

I finally switched to Grande for Internet today after a year with Pair bonding on power 45 grande had a good deal for 200/20 cheaper than power 45. Also most of the neighboorhood has been making the switch from ATT Internet over to Grande in the past month. Grande has vastly improved from being unrealiable to being realiabe.
The tech did inform that Grande 1Gig is coming around April 2017 to the entire area. Tech did mention ATT could of beat us by bringing Fiber but they are stalling so we beat them and provide it. I am not sure why ATT is willing to loose most of neighboorhood for Internet when nearly everyone also has Direct TV for TV. Seems ATT is focusing on Directv.
Waits to been seen if we see ATT FIber comes once Grande starts providing the 1gig speeds later this year. (I am doubtful).

Hello gogiants1998, we will be happy to help with your internet inquiry.
We do see you were given a link to check for fiber availability in your area some time back. At this time, the next thing would be to complete a form to request fiber service. The page has a few boxes for you to fill out, in order for that request to be processed. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Thank you for chosing AT&T.
