Credit Unfrozen Still Can't Open Account Online
As a new customer, I selected an offer for internet that adds a $50 Visa and a $100 Visa. At the end of the application process I got a message that there was a problem. The only thing I could think of was that I had a credit freeze at Experian, Equifax and TransUnion. I called AT&T and spoke to an agent. She said that I needed to unfreeze my reports and apply again. I removed the freeze from all 3 reporting agencies and tried to apply again online, and got the same response; there was a problem. I called an agent again and told her what was going on. She said since I couldn't apply online, she could set up my new account. I asked about the Visa cards and she said she could give me the $100 Visa but not the $50 Visa.
What in the world is going on? I lose $50 because I had to unfreeze my credit reports???

I had the same thing happen. Tried to set up internet online, kept getting an error at check out. They told me my credit was frozen, but it's not frozen. I spent over two hours trying to get signed up with internet pricing without success. I reached the corporate sales team over the phone only for the guy to tell me my credit is frozen. IT'S NOT FROZEN!! I guess I'm sticking with Comcast. What a debacle.

@Above user
You might want to try a little harder especially if your fallback is Comcast of all services. If you’re lucky to have ATT Fiber internet available in your area / at your residence, you would be doing yourself a huge disservice by opting for Comcast.
For my first promotional year with Fiber, I paid $60/month for speeds (1GB down/1GB up) that - in comparison - Comcast would probably charge multiple hundreds of dollars (citation needed). Moreover, I don’t think I ever experienced an outage. It’d pain me to see someone go with Comcast when ATT Fiber is available to you. Cheers.

Funny, I unfroze my credit 2 weeks ago and AT&T says it's still frozen. So I see they really have a problem with whatever system they use, I was right.
