Can an individual user pay to have an extension fiber connected?

Looking at a piece of property approx 600' from an already existing subdivision that has pre wired fiber.  The fiber could be ran at the time a new sewer is ran.  How does one go about checking this out with AT&T, as my purchase of the property hinges on the availability of fiber

TIA,

Ben

Hello @jben001

We understand you have a question about fiber availability and If it would be available at the address you wish to purchase.

Have you tried doing a services availability check? Here's where you can check to see if that address is eligible for fiber.

Yes I did check thanks, however the online Availability checker shows it NOT available.

I currently live approx 600' from the site that I wish to extend fiber to, and am on 1GHz AT&T Fiber.  The property in question is being subdivided and annexed to the city ... but it will still be 5-600' from the only AT&T fiber facility anywhere near.

So my question is:

  • Will AT&T provide a fiber run for the approx 600' to the location in question? (there would be a max of 2 customers at this location)
    • Assuming the answer is yes, how does one start the process to get it through engineering and determine the cost?
  • Assuming the answer is no, will AT&T connect a fiber run provided by a 3rd party installer?

They did not address it in a PM with the poster.  Instead I got a phone number to call.  I have called it a dozen plus times over the past two weeks and left messages.  No one returns my call.
