Bait and switch?

I was mailed a promotion from AT&T fiber with a big blue box that states "Get 2 months on us. Any Speed" In fine print it states it will be given via a reward card. Fine. I called the number on the back of the mailed promotion ( 866.473.0552)  and the representative told me he had no knowledge of the promotion and it must have expired. I told him there was no expiration on the promotion and I had just received it a week ago.  He asked me what plan I wanted and I told him the $65 500mbs. He then told me if I chose the $80 1 gig plan, I would receive a reward card for $250, and that was like 3 months free. So I opted for that. Today I got emailed to claim my $150 reward card. Seriously? Its only a $100 but I don't like getting scammed. How does this happen?  They record those calls, right?

Without knowing the promos in effect at that time, I suspect the offer was $150 reward card AND if order online receive an additional $100 reward card for total $250…

Do you still have the the original mailing to read the fine print?

The question is did you hang up after having the question answered and order service online or did you use a human to place your order negating the $100 reward for online orders only.

Yes I still have the promotion I was mailed. Its NOT the promotion the  person I spoke with offered. The promotion I was mailed offered 2 free months via a rewards card ( any speed). It did not require an online order. It listed a web site (att.com/attBB279) and a telephone number(866.473.0552). That's what I called to order but the person I spoke with knew nothing of the promotion. He then told me of another promotion. Order the 1 gig and keep the service for 6 weeks and receive $250 reward card. And he stated, that's like getting 3 months free. Its not like he misspoke. $80 * 3 = $240. Again, its only $100. I'm not going to have a stroke over it. I'm only 2 days into this and I'm thinking I've never seen something so unprofessional. The representative( not the tech) in my home could not tell me how to set up an AT&T email account. Its just sloppy.
