ATT Fiber in San Diego 92123

I have been waiting for AT&T to roll out Fiber in my neighborhood for years. As I understand it there is a fiber node about 150 yards from my house. I can see it from my front door. I was talking with an AT&T technician who installed my AT&T 100mbps service and that is what he said. If this is the case I would very much like to have Fiber to my house. I have bee with AT&T for a long time. I tried Spectrum for a few months. The service was okay but I disliked the customer service. If you are late with your bill at all they send you a tons of emails, and nasty-grams and they blow up your phone.  Every now and then I need to ask for more time to pay my bill due to how my paydays work out. Spectrum would not budge one iota. I pay my bills but sometimes I need a little more time. They were behaving like bill collectors. So I went back to AT&T.

Now if I could just get Fiber from AT&T it would be great.

We're happy to address your inquiry, @perkgun.

We suggest using our Coverage Map to see if Fiber is available at your address. If it's not, don't worry. We're constantly working to bring Fiber to more neighborhoods across the country.

If you have any other questions or concerns, just let us know.

We've had AT&T out to our house twice trying to get Fiber connections.  Each time we are told something different, but fiber cannot be had.   My neighborhood has underground power and  telephone lines, nothing from telephone poles.   The fiber is only available via telephone poles from an alley behind my house.   There is a big AT&T plate on the sidewalk across the street, and I think I remember the phone line installer selecting our twisted pairs from that area when the neighborhood utilities went underground back in the early 2000's.   Was there no AT&T fiber pulled thru the underground conduits when La Jolla services went underground?

Hello, WallyPalo. We understand the desire to have the fastest available speeds.

One of the most important things to keep in mind is that AT&T Internet is a distance-dependent service. If your house is too far away from the fiber equipment, it may not be available. This means your neighbor may have fiber, but your home is not eligible.

For more information about fiber availability, please visit our article that discusses why faster AT&T speeds may not be available.

Unfortunately, we're not able to answer your question about fiber being pulled through the underground conduits. As agents, we are not privy to that type of information.

If you have any other questions, let us know.
