ATT Fiber cost after 12 months

Hi all,

I’ll cut to the chase, I’m thinking of switching over from Xfinity Gigabit to Fiber . I’m currently paying $75 a month with Xfinity while ATT says it’s $80 a month for 12 months. I spoke with a rep online and they confirmed there’s no contract and the price is not a “promotion” rate. However, I’m seeing conflicting information from several customers online that said their monthly rate did in fact increase after the 12 month period. I know for a fact I can always get Xfinity to renew my promotion and keep it around the same price cause I’ve been doing it since 2015. Fiber is definitely enticing but not if the price is going to be a difference of 20-40 dollars a month. Can anyone share their experience with price increases after 12 months, if any? Thanks.

As a person that used to have AT&T Fiber, and is now stuck with Xfinity, I can tell you AT&T Fiber is much better than Xfinity simply due to mirrored upload speeds and reliability alone. AT&T went to a more simplified pricing model a few months back (can't remember when exactly) so there are no price increases after 12 months like there was before. That doesn't mean AT&T won't raise rates to adjust for inflation, other business costs and such down the road, of course.

Thank you for the response SoloTX. I'm leaning heavily towards making the switch. Thanks again.
